Virginia Farm to School Conference March 14
The Virginia Farm to School Conference is a one-day event that will be taking place on March 14, 2019 in Hampton, Virginia. Objectives of the conference are to present best practices in delivery, distribution, and promotion regarding local foods, providing ideas and resources for programs, offer a networking opportunity for school professionals, farmers, community organizers, and others. Additionally, the conference will be will to establish a two-year target for the Virginia Farm to School program.
Throughout the day there will be speakers related to Virginia schools, as well as directors of successful programs from other states. Attendees will take part in facilitated conversations to discuss important topics that will touch on all aspects of a Farm to School approach. During lunch, you’ll be able to network with others in your region. The remainder of the day will be broken up into small sessions that will allow you to attend topics that are most applicable to you.
During the social networking hour following the Conference wrap-up, you’ll be able to meet with vendors and buyers featuring Virginia grown foods.
